Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Currently for our Nordic Client we are looking for the experienced Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join the Gdynia team.  The company is the leading international capital markets operator and investment banking partner in the Nordic and Baltic Sea regions

Job Description:

We are Risk IT – a team of engineers responsible for building Nordea’s future risk management systems. Our team is building distributed, scalable and highly resilient risk systems for Nordea Capital Markets.

We are now under a massive transformation and redesign towards a service-oriented approach using loosely coupled services, asynchronous communication and resilient design.

We have a very challenging and demanding business that actively expands and heavily invests in technology. We are building real-time, heavy loaded systems using cutting edge technology to address ambitious business goals. Our development is based around:

  • Java 8 and in-memory processing (Redis, ActivePivot)
  • Linux environment
  • Microservices architecture which means complex deployments
  • Gradle and Artifactory, we started adopting Docker

We need decent deployment capabilities, first class monitoring and a streamlined delivery chain. We now look for a Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.

The qualifications you need:

You should be fond of technology, simplicity and innovation. You are a native Linux citizen and you have good scripting (bash, Python). Other requirements are:

Unix/Linux:

  • Proficient with Linux and standard Unix tools (grep, awk, sed, bash, etc.)
  • Scripting (bash), nice to have: python/perl
  • Docker
  • Monitoring (one of): Zabbix, Geneos, AppDynamics, etc

DB/SQL:

  • Basic DDL and DML skills
  • No need for DBA profile, but nice if DBA skills present

Programming:

  • Java (nice to have)

Personal skills:

  • Multitasking
  • Self-motivation
  • Pro-activeness and active position (a lot will depend on your ability to propose things, raise suggestions, improvements, etc.)
  • Customer orientation
  • Readiness for business trips
